Gary Applegate
and lead / slide guitarist Sal Barbera use a far more entertaining
approach than most duos. Rather than dredging up the same worn-out
songs that every act plays, Gary and Sal give the audience fresh,
fun tunes, well-suited for stompin’, clappin’, and bangin’
on things. In fact, when you listen to the live demos,
you'll hear the audience doing just that.
They
play good-time blues that'll make you grin a little, but occasionally
they'll sneak up to the edge of a country song. If you’re
hoping to hear “Brown-eyed Girl,” “Mr. Bojangles,”
or “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” You've got

The philosophy is simple:
Play what you love and the people will too. Their sound sound
is fat, filling, and tasty as fried taters with chicken gravy.
This show has no artificial
ingredients. No drum machine. No backing tracks. No band in a
box. Gary provides vocals, rhythm guitar and harmonica, while
Sal absolutely knocks people out on electric and slide guitar.
Oh... and there's that top-secret voodoo on the low end that makes
it go boom boom. This is the real deal.

In addition to years
of experience as a musician,Gary's also worked extensively as
a DJ and emcee for hundreds of contests and promotions. He's completely
